Porsche 991 911 GT3 (9A11 006 750 00) H6 Engine: A High-Performance Masterpiece (2014-2016, Approx. 34,000 Miles)

The Porsche 911 GT3 (9A11 006 750 00) engine is an exceptional piece of automotive engineering, representing the pinnacle of power and performance in the 911 lineup during the 2014 to 2016 era. This H6 engine, with approximately 34,000 miles on its clock, is a must-have for those seeking an exhilarating driving experience.

The Porsche 991 GT3 engine, codenamed "Meilenstein" (German for milestone), is a water-cooled, naturally-aspirated flat-six powerplant. Capable of delivering raw and unbridled power, this engine boasts a displacement of 3.8 liters, yielding a maximum output of 475 horsepower at 8,250 rpm. Torque peaks at 325 lb-ft at just 4,750 rpm, ensuring impressive acceleration and responsiveness.

This engine is instantly recognizable for its iconic positioning at the rear of the 911 chassis, and features high-revving characteristics that satisfyingly roar from its exhaust pipes when pushed to its limits. The sound, combined with its uncompromising performance, is what sets the GT3 apart from other models in the 911 range.

Several engineering enhancements elevate the GT3's performance. Among them are a larger turbocharger, lighter internals, and the addition of thus far unseen features like Variocam Plus and PDK dual-clutch transmission. The Variocam Plus camshaft control system enhances engine power and helps optimize fuel efficiency, while the PDK transmission allows for lightning-quick gear changes, resulting in a smoother driving experience.

Additionally, the achievable mechanical grip is significantly increased thanks to extensive engineering developments in the areas of chassis, aerodynamics, and suspension. The lightweight alloy wheels, staggered tire setup, and larger front air intakes contribute to the car's exceptional handling, making every drive an indulgent connection between driver, machine, and the open road.

With a negotiated price tag, this meticulously maintained Porsche 991 GT3 presents an excellent opportunity for an avid automotive enthusiast or seasoned collector to own a piece of Porsche history, and embark on an enthralling driving journey. Don't miss your chance to witness this engine in action and experience its thrilling driving dynamics.

The Porsche 911 GT3 (991 generation, 3.8-liter H6 engine, produced between 2014 and 2016) is a high-performance sports car known for its impressive power, handling, and engineering. Here are some pros and cons to help you make an informed decision about buying one:

Pros:

1. Power and Performance: The naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers around 475 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, offering exhilarating acceleration and a thrilling driving experience.

2. Handling: The GT3's well-balanced chassis, wider track width, and adaptive suspension system provide exceptional handling and confidence-inspiring feedback.

3. Braking: The GT3 comes with powerful and consistent brakes, allowing for impressive stopping power and shorter braking distances.

4. Design: The GT3 exudes sophistication and sportiness, with its distinctive design elements like the rear wing, side skirts, and unique badging.

5. Value retention: Porsche models, particularly the GT3, are known for strong resale values, making them a good investment for enthusiasts.

Cons:

1. Fuel economy: With its powerful engine, the GT3 doesn't offer impressive fuel efficiency. Expect around 18 mpg (13 L/100 km) in combined city/highway driving.

2. Cost of ownership: The GT3 is a high-end sports car with a premium price tag. This extends to the cost of maintenance, repairs, and upkeep over time.

3. Ride comfort: The GT3's aggressive handling and low ride height can make for a firm and sometimes uncomfortable ride on less-than-perfect roads.

4. Limited practicality: While the GT3 offers a modest trunk and a rear seat, it isn't the most practical choice for daily use or long trips.

5. Manufacturer-specific parts: Since the GT3 is a specialized sports car, replacement parts can be expensive and less readily available as compared to more common models.

Conclusion:

The Porsche 911 GT3 (991 generation, 3.8-liter H6 engine) offers thrilling performance, exceptional handling, and a desirable sports car pedigree. However, it comes with downsides such as higher costs of ownership, average fuel economy, and limited practicality. Weighing these factors against the unique driving experience, it may be a worthwhile investment for those who can afford it and appreciate the brand.

Recommendation:

If you're looking for a high-performance sports car and have a budget for the premium price, the Porsche 911 GT3 is a great choice. However, we recommend considering a certified pre-owned model to save on the upfront cost and make the experience more affordable. Additionally, be prepared for ongoing costs, including fuel and maintenance expenses.

I purchased a g6 and swapped my motor. Porsche 991 911 GT3 3.8L H6 long block with 35500 miles. The engine code is MA175 and the manufacturer part number 9A110067500. Would be a great block to rebuild for the track.

Case has not been broken into to diagnose. I have Brisked all cylinders and there is no scoring whatsoever. Engine runs and drives however it is getting a low oil pressure at idle. The pistons and valves appear to be in good shape.

I m told this could be an oil pump going bad or bearings.
